If fixed, I wouldn't bet on you getting burned out in the same way you would in DD.Trainer Title:: Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning +10 Trainer - LinGon TLDR: It's comparable in quality, but gameplay and aesthetics are drastically different. Dragon's Dogma, is a unique blend of Western Open World, Souls-like, and JRPG to me. And while KoA is more "fun", Dragon's Dogma is by far a more innovative game, with pawns, climbing mega monsters, throwing, and bringing a JRPG class management system to a western style game. I wouldn't call it burnout, but when you become precluding from a core element of the game (character improvement), it's hard for me to keep going. I've lost motivation to finish it every time. I would hit the max level cap at around 2/3 of the game every time because I like doing every quest and exploring each area. HOWEVER, and I asked this question above, I would research to see if they have fixed the leveling issue. Travel isn't a time sink like in Dragon's Dogma, crafting exists yet is not overbearing or tedious, and at any given moment you are general having more "fun". There are more RPG elements to the game (stealth system, quests with choice), gameplay is less determined by statistics you cannot control, and the aesthetics are both more varied and more vibrant. It is harder to get burnt out on Kingdom's of Amular. Vampyr has the best NPC system I have seen in an RPG, and Divinity II's dragon mechanic is unmatched). (Although, don't sleep on the rest of these games. I will say that of this "lesser tier" of RPGs, including games like these two, Vampyr, Lords of the Fallen, Two Worlds, Risen, Divinity II, the fable games, Kingdom Come Deliverance, greedfall, and so on, Dragon's Dogma and Kingdoms of Amular are likely the best.
